Keys For Rosewill (RK-9000BR)
« on: Mon, 10 December 2012, 01:36:58 »
I am new to this. I just bought my first mechanical keyboard, a Rosewill (RK-9000BR).

I would like to replace a few keys, and wanted to make sure I buy the correct size/height keys.

Just wondering if someone could point me in the right direction.

Thanks!

The one good thing about Rosewill keyboards is by golly good golly molly they use standard keys!  There are NO screwball hypercustom keys put there solely to irritate you and be irreplaceable like certain other keyboard makers do.

So if you want replacement keys, well first you should try to buy a complete set if that is what you want.

But if you just want to replace a few keys then you need to look for:
OEM Profile

This is more scientifically called "12mm profile" since the keys are around 11.8mm tall.

There are more technicalities I could give you... but I am afraid I might confuse or scare you :)

WASDkeyboards.com has a few keys that are supposed to perfectly match the height of Rosewill keys.  You can get any color you want and you can even get them to laser you a custom set of keys complete with "I love Jennifer" or whatever you want.

I am about to buy some keys from them myself.  Sometime when I am awake :)

One groovy thing about these OEM Profile keys is that they are super compatible to O-Rings, which I advise you to get. WASD has them.  They are cheap and ur fingers will luv u.  :-*
Rosewill RK-9000RE #1 (Broke on day 26, fixed with Scotch Tape on day 42, barely holding together)
Rosewill RK-9000RE #2 (Lubed, still in the box.  I am afraid to use it because it will break like the first one)
