squeaky Ducky Shine II

So I got a brand new Ducky Shine II keyboard, first in my mechanical keyboard arsenal and like many others the space bar is squeaky.   Of all the videos and pics I've seen for the stabilizer bar in the large keys, they all look to be accessible once you lift up their respective key.  I thought it would be the same for the Ducky Shine II, but pulling off the space bar revealed that the stabilizer bar is underneath the keyboard frame.  Instead of the bar running over the frame, it has 3 pegs instead of one to keep the bar stable.  Any idea where I would lube up to get some smooth loving?  I can take pics of it when I get home if needed...

There's no bar for your stabilizer because you have Cherry stabilizers. The "bar" is found on Costar stabilizers. Lubing yours is the same process as lubing any other cherry switch.

Any decent synthetic silicone lube should take care of it.  Personally, I would recommend MechLube, but it's really user preference. 

Fyi though, when I first got my Ducky Shine II it was squeaky on the space bar.  It wasn't everytime, but it was when I would push it rather rapidly during typing and stuff. 
However, it doesn't do that now.  I think it's not that good to lube up unless you're really having a problem because it introduces more particles to be stuck there and eventually turn like sandpaper.  Plastic and metal rub lightly to form dry lubricant (basically powdered plastic).  That seemed to do the trick.  If you do use lube, make sure to keep your keyboard free of foreign debris.

I tend to agree, but the squeak on the space bar of my 9008 is driving me crazy during rapid typing.  How long did it take for yours to go away?

I had a squeaky space bar on my Ducky Shine II shortly after I got it, lubed it, and the squeakiness went away in less than a day for me.

Lol.  Understandable.  I was freaking out too for a while.  Um, I believe it was less than a week later.  (I did have to type a 3000 word essay though, I suppose that helped lol)

Personally, don't lube it.  If it doesn't go away after a week or two, then do so.  Remember though, use something heavy, lasts long, but attracts more dust.  Use something light, and it will run into your PCB (not cool dude).

I don't like thinking about these things, or worry about I don't know temperature rises that may melt the grease in.  So I just let it set.

I've typed more than 20,000 words today alone.  I type all day.  The squeak is here to stay.  I bought some high-viscosity GPL-205 with a syringe applicator, and I'll try to apply the smallest possible amount.  Stay tuned I guess...
