Keycaps for laptops
« on: Wed, 13 February 2013, 11:54:05 »
Hey guys I'm new here and I've been trying to find a nice layout for my MEKA G1 keyboard and while at it I thought why not ask about changing the keycaps on my laptop too,
I have a Gigabyte model q1580p and I believe it's a standard clip keys and I was wondering if there are colored key caps for it.

This the clip type.

Thanks a lot, I will open later on another topic for my Meka g1 keys

Welcome to Geekhack!

They are scissor switches.

IIRC there are places you can get stickers to stick on the keycaps, but not custom keycaps.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
