RETRO Group Buy Info
« on: Mon, 25 March 2013, 10:09:39 »
Is there going to be another RETRO group buy at any time soon. This one I am talking about:

http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=28363.0

Or maybe if someone has the RGB symbol version for sale?

I'm new to doing such. How would I start a group but and who makes this set that I can order from in bulk?

I really want a Round 3/ Round 4 looking set of Keycaps. I will DEFINITELY purchase a set if we start a new Group Buy. Hell, I have been offering to purchase a Round 3 set on the classifieds for some time with no luck.

Something like this:

or spherical retro/DSA style caps.  Really i just want something old school mixed in with my custom poker.  The CCnG look good...just not good enough.

If I can learn how to start a group but or someone can give me information on where to purchase the retro sets at bulk, I will definitely take the time out to create one.

I'm sure creating an order can't be hard and I can study the previous GB to use as a template, but where are we buying them from?

I sent an inquiry to GMK. I will see what they can do and once I receive pricing and information, I will begin the group buy.

Most of the hold up is over the fact that 7bit is wrapping up his Round 4 Group Buy, which includes the Round 3 set. It's been going on forever to hear people talk. Since additional Round 3 sets are just around the corner and so many orders have already been paid for them, there's nothing to do but wait.  :'(

I too have been wanting a set since I first saw them back in November of last year.

fair enough about the round 4 nonsense. but we can offer a retro group buy that separates us from Round 3/4 group buys.  DSA Spherical with Dolch colors, old school typeface, center legend, large legend, etc.

we could even do a retro style keycap set with more modern coloring to interest others. i am not as creative as some of you here but i hope you get what i mean.

all i know is i need a retro set of keys for my 60% with an aluminum case. there is something about the mixture of modern and retro that i just freaking love. and while i admit the hunt for hard to find keycaps etc is fun, my quest for the round 3 set is a little tiring.

plus my [WTB] Round 3 Keycap Set didnt go anywhere...

Retro Blue and Retro Green are coming soon, and are nicely described above.

I like keyboards and case modding.  Everything about a computer should be silent -- except the KEYBOARD!

that sounds dope and all but i really like the idea of a dolch retro set or something either grey or blackish. at least with an aluminum case.  of course if beast sells cases that have some color to them i will buy the **** out of a blue and green retro set.

i wants to see!

I have already created an IC thread and waiting on 7bit for the legends as SC is on deck waiting for it to start. A lot of people expressed interest so I will be doing a GB as soon as possible.

YES! Exactly the look I've always wanted! How do I subscribe to this thread? I want to be part of a group buy for Retro keycaps! (but not black-white)

Most of the modding can be done on your own once you break through the psychological barriers.
