Topre keychain?
« on: Wed, 03 April 2013, 22:08:52 »
Does anybody know where I can get a topre keychain or just a topre switch and keycap so I can see what they feel like? I am kinda scared to but down 250$ or more and not like the feel of it.

In my opinion to decide which switch you like best, at least one week typing in a keyboard full of that switch (not just one single key!) is needed.

You aren't going to get an accurate feel of what the actual typing experience is on either an HHKB or a Realforce. HHKB being plastic mounted, Realforce being plate mounted give totally different key feels.

Looks like I need to man up and fork out some cash. At least if I don't like it they have good resale value on here.

Just pick up an old Dell Quiet key on the cheap from eBay. It'll give you a better and cheaper idea of how the switch feels.

i wonder if dell qk can actually be better than realforce.
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.
