OK, so another noob post by me. As I'm reading up on mechanical keyboards I stumble across stuff that I either don't get or is inaccurate or the manufacturer did something different.
I got CM QF TK with Reds and I read this:
Bottoming Out
Bottoming out is pushing a switch all the way down. Linear switches like Cherry MX Blacks and Cherry MX Reds require you to push the key all the way down (bottom out) to register the key press. From:
https://mechanicalkeyboards.com/terms.php#bottoming_outReds in this keyboard do not "bottom out". It registers the key press at about 50% of the way down on a Windows 7 laptop. If I push it all the way down it still registers 1 key press. No problem.
However, I have pre-boot authentications setup and when I tried to type in the password today by pushing the a key all the way down it registered 3-5 key presses. I wonder if it's the same in the BIOS.
So, is this an inaccurate description of the Reds or is this keyboard malfunctioning?
