Steelseries 7G key double/triple presses

Hey!

Ive had my 7G for a few years now, its a great keyboard and I do love it, however the 'L' key double presses maybe 10% of the time. It is only with the 'L' key, i've soldered on a new switch and its still the same. anyone have any insights?

I had an issue like this on my 700R. Solution for my problem? Open the case up, cut a piece of drawer liner, sandwich between the PCB and case, close the case up. Check these links out for more info:

I think the issue is that the PCB shorts out a little against the bottom of the case and causes the double taps. The drawer liner prevents the shorting and fixes the double tapping. Regardless, it worked for me. And it was easy and cheap.

i had that issue with razer bw but i had it on warranty so they just changed board......

It seems like there is a lot of this going on nowadays, I've had this problem with my Noppoo and I had to get a new keyboard, I've switched back to the Noppoo as of late because I cannot stand this new keyboard, typing on blacks is just absolutely horrific for me, so I've found somewhat of a solution, check here on my personal blog for more information:

I am still working on uploading the files for this fix, it was intended for dell keyboards but mechanical users over on autohotkey also use it.

I will be giving the solution provided by CPTBadAss though as the solution that is mentioned on my blog is not a great fix as you have to disable the autohotkey script while in game or you cannot move using the WASD keys etc.

Well that would prove to be true on my end, I've not even had it 9 months before the chattering started and to be honest, I really like the Noppoo it's perfect for me, especially with the switches that I'm using (reds), I'd just like to be able to fix it so that I can sell off my Keycool, but I'm not sure if that's even possible.

*crosses fingers*

edit: I have no idea of what even caused mine, can something like this just be caused out of the blue, without any kind of trigger? or does something have to happen to the keyboard, I guess it would be general wear and tear though, iuno.
