It is a vintage cherry numpad. with that price we can get a new cherry doubleshot keyboard. The ebay sellers have become bolder and bolder. Get any crap and put a high enough price, if sells good laugh to the bank else drop price by 10%. Rinse and repeat.

Price very high, then drop 10% per week, is the best way to ensure that you get the maximum price for your item, unless it happens to spark a bidding war.

ebay wants you to start low in order for buyers to have a shot at bargains, but if you are a seller, you need a totally different mindset.
“No political truth is of greater intrinsic value, or is stamped with the authority of more enlightened patrons of liberty: The accumulation of all powers, legislative, executive, and judiciary, in the same hands .… may justly be pronounced the very definition of tyranny.” —James Madison, Federalist 47
“All the powers of government, legislative, executive, and judiciary, result to the legislative body. The concentrating of these in the same hands, is precisely the definition of despotic government. An ELECTIVE DESPOTISM was not the government we fought for; but one .... in which the powers of government should be so divided and balanced among several bodies of magistracy, as that no one could transcend their legal limits, without being effectually checked and restrained by the others.” — Thomas Jefferson, commentary on Federalist 48

It reminds me of the keypad they have at the postal sorting facilities to key in zip codes, Not 100% sure on that thought.

It's a very old probably M7 switch unit. The really old stuff like this is a lot harder to come across especially in fine condition, though it is not really that interesting... and the pcb slot connector make is really difficult to make use of.
Now one that is very interesting an hex programming interface, but has an insane pricing LOL...

These things are often custom-jobs for CNC-machines costing tens or hundreds of thousands,
so the pricing doesn't necessarily reflect the 'real' value of the components on the PCB ..
