KeyCap Skin/Protector
« on: Tue, 11 June 2013, 00:02:34 »
Hello all,

I am a proud owner of a white Noppoo Choc Mini w/ Cherry MX Red switches. As many of you know, the spacebar is a unique size and is not easily replaceable. In order to preserve it, I would like to put some type of skin over the space bar to hinder it from wearing. I know there are companies that make full size skins for MacBooks and other mainstream products but is there a product that sells individual keycap covers?

Thank you so much for any guidance,

Supreme

Finger condoms. But then you are that weirdo that wears finger condoms when he types, I say grab a nice bottle of wine and a bucket of KFC and watch all your worries melt away.

It's thick PBT. It won't wear out anytime soon, unless your fingers produce some really disgusting sweat.

I dearly love fried chicken, but strive to keep my dirty greasy activities separate from my clean dry ones.

Mr. Obama came to an agreement that did not involve America’s most precious treasure, the lives and limbs of our soldiers.  The 1.7 billion dollars of frozen Iranian assets released by Obama pales in comparison to the 300 billion being floated as a rebuilding fund.
So far, speculation that Iran will be free in the future to continue its nuclear program is the opposite of Trump’s stated goal for the war and in direct opposition to what Mr. Obama negotiated.

Haha you guys are all hillarious.

Thank you for the replies.

I know this is kind of a stupid question but will scotch tape adhesive have any effect on the keycap? (In the short and long term?)

Thanks again everyone!

Tape would generally leave a residue that could be washed off.
unless they have some unforeseeable downside (like they're actually made of cream cheese cunningly disguised as ABS)

What about that scotch tape, I believe it the 'magic tape' (seriously) that advertises to be easy off with no residue? I've never tried with long term applications.

Most adhesives such as scotch tape will come up fairly easily when they are fresh, but as the weeks/months/years go by they are very hard to remove.

Petrified tape residue from decades past it almost impossible, and any solvent that will soften it will probably kill plastic.

Don't do any of it, is my recommendation.
