Different keys, exact same problem I had - either it's Left Alt or defective controller. Left Alt is definitely not actually fixed. Loosening the case will not help either way. It will only continue to get worse over time, resulting in more keys with intermittent function or complete failure.
Better off just harvesting the switches and buying something from a manufacturer that cares about more than just a 25%+ margin on every unit and actually honors their warranty.
What exactly was wrong with your QFR? I vaguely remember you posting about it but I can't find the thread. It's true that the QFR has had a bunch of issues. I've experienced the broken left alt, and the 'qwer' row malfunction on different QFRs. But you can't just say "it will only continue to get worse over time" without understanding what's causing the failures.
The left alt issue was caused by a poor solder joint on that switch. It can be fixed by resoldering solder pad to the switch pin. It does not affect other keys outside of the alt key.
The 'qwer' and 'uipo' keys share the same trace, and the screw at the bottom puts pressure on the trace, causing that row to go out.
The G and M keys do not share the same trace, so it's unlikely that unscrewing the case will fix this issue. (But still worth a try.)
I'm not defending CoolerMaster. I agree that the QC should be a lot better. But I don't think it's time to harvest switches and buy another keyboard just yet. I doubt it's a controller problem because all the other keys work fine. The fact that it's different keys from ones you had issue with means that it's a different problem. You can't just assume all QFR's with any single one of these numerous problems will all end up being a complete failure.
I'm all for figuring out what it is, and fixing it, for keyboard science
