Filco users come in!
« on: Fri, 28 November 2008, 09:57:16 »
I am currently using a Filco Bluetooth keyboard with brown cherries and I am starting to notice that some of the keycaps (E,S,A and O) are starting to fade a little bit after only less than 2 months of use.

According to Diatec website, this keyboard is supposed to have laser printed keycaps.  I thought laser printed key caps arent supposed to fade?

Any other Filco users have this problem?

Don't know as my filco mini is only a few weeks old.
Are you using any kind of lotion on your hands? From what I read that can cause damage to keycaps....
Are your hands clean? I know some people that eat at the computer and their keyboards get pretty grotty.

My hands are clean, and I do not have sweaty fingers either. Printing type on the bluetooth version is different from the wired ones, so wired keyboards may not experience the same problem as I do.

Anyone with bluetooth filco keen to share their experiences here?

Have the keycaps started to get shiny?

I'd love to see a Filco "mini" with brown cherries (in US layout) and bluetooth.

I think the best would be the faded-salmon Cherry switches, I hear that color is the bestest.

I am getting used to the browns, but the blues are nice too.

How much typing are you doing? Not that it matters, I guess, the board is 2 months old so the lettering should not be degrading.
