Elitekeyboard keycap quality?
« on: Tue, 27 August 2013, 20:15:20 »
Hi everyone, I'm looking for a keycap set.

I have a set of white blanks by WASD, and a full set thats pretty affordable.

I saw EK sells sets for about $30 shipped and the only thing holding me back was that they are pad printed.
the stock keys on my qfr's are pad printed, and you can clearly  feel the legends under your fingers, can anyone confirm if the
caps from EK will be the same?

They are ABS material and pad printed. If longevity doesn't matter to you, they are a good deal.

I dunno, since shipping is the same for one or two sets ($10 ), I was thinking about the green and either red or blue

I haven't taken them out of package yet. But they look like stickers.

Er, I'll just point out that I haven't said "no" to those green ones yet, SpAmRaY.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
