It looks like they do Cherry keycaps.

Incidently, the have a picture of an ErgonomiXX mykey keyboard that looks pretty cool, but I could hardly find anything about them (and, certainly, not what switches they used).

Any idea of their pricing? I've been wondering how much it would cost to get some space invader keycaps made up for my G84-4100. (Probably far too much!)

Devlin have a range for Cherry switches, but they have a minimum purchase order of £50.

I just received a reply from Ken at Arkay Engravers. They have a minimum order of $50. He said keycaps run between $0.40 and $5.50 (US) each.

Also, you're putting them on the wrong key switch.

NMB switches would be best, to go with the theme. (Pull the space invader keycap, and bam, there's another space invader. )

I wonder of you could make the "pew-pew" sound of the spaceship shooting when you press a key.  Ooh, and have a wrist rest in the shape of the sheilds.

That would probably be an easy mod on a Model M with the integrated speaker...

Or there's noisykeyboard.exe, although it really messes with some input stuff... Pidgin crashes as soon as you do any keyboard input with it running.

Also, the Model M speaker isn't driven by the Model M itself, it's driven by the computer it's connected to, an RS/6000 workstation. The RS/6000 moved the speaker into the keyboard, instead of in the case, because the machine could physically be somewhat of a distance from the user.

I know that the speaker isn't driven by the model m, but someone with some breadboard experience could probably rig up something to use the internal speaker.
I have one of those RS/6000 workstations...  I bought it on Craigslist and rightnow it's a thinkpad stand

You could use AutoHotkey for the sound effects. I wrote a script that works like NoisyKeyboard but the sample will clip if you type fast.

I always thought it would be neat to tie your typing speed to your music player. If you go below a certain wpm, your player pauses (or slows down).
Probably can be done in autohotkey actually.

That would be ok for typing but not at all for writing.
