I want a keyboard like this
« on: Sun, 08 September 2013, 21:16:04 »
I'm considering a keyboard layout for Vim and Windows users these days.
This is my current design.
34665-0

It has two DIP switches:
DIS SWKey      On       Off
SW1    Fn       Caps   Fn
          Caps  Fn      Caps
SW2   Fn       Ctrl     Fn
          Ctrl    Fn      Ctrl

I really hope the next version of GH's keyboards can consider this layout.
If somebody can assemble one for me, please let me know. I can pay it if the cost is not very high;D

similar not exactly the same

That's true, I thought most of the laptop keyboards use this layout.
But I want to simulate VI's arrow keys.

It's called an MX Mini, says it right in the title.

It's a layout that has a plethora of diff cases. DanGWanG had the LZ case for it. I've seen more than a few in the classifieds lately.

Edit: Aren't those the same layout except for the modifiers?

Thanks, they are almost the same, but it doesn't have "Windows" key and "Menu" Key. And there is no right "Fn" key either.

Should be able to get an MX Mini in a 1.25x layout instead of 1.5x layout which would satisfy your needs.

Thanks man, I'm fresh and never assembled a keyboard before.
It will take some time because I need to learn it from scratch.  :-\
Does GeekHack provide this kind of service, to help people to assemble a keyboard?

just make one... it isn't all that hard to hard wire one if you buy some parts. If you get a plate cut for it and buy the switches then just wire the switches in a matric and solder then to a micro controller some simple modding to the tmk firmware and your up and running. I made my keyboard within about 2 weeks of seeing people were making keyboards on this forum.

the people here are more then willing to help you through making it by giving advice and helping you understand the coding

That is the exact layout of my Epsilon.  You can make one of those.

Already made.  You can buy a kit if you're into the whole DIY thing.
