The keybr.com Typing App
« on: Sat, 25 October 2014, 08:56:47 »
I'm in the 60-70 wpm range and during my search for an app that could improve my typing speed, I came across keybr.com. The concept seems very efficient. The app is basically doing a very detailed live analysis of single keys and adapts itself very quickly to changes in your skill level, presenting you with lessons that are continuously tailored towards training your currently weakest keys, and all that in levels of proficiency. But, because the app uses made up words for the most part, I'm questioning whether practicing with real words would not be more beneficial for everyday life?

What's your take on it? Does anybody have prolonged experience with keybr?

I've been using it for a couple weeks.  The app is really good at learning what I am not efficient at. I can feel my brain bend  fairly often.

So you would say it translates well into your real world typing?

I'm french, so finding a website to learn to type faster is really hard since most of them uses english words and I can't really learn frequent letters cobinations used in french. I really like keybr ecaclty because it uses made up words, I went from 50 to 60 wpm in french and from 60 to 70 wpm in english

I like it a lot, but I wish it used and kept statistics on numbers and symbols as well. Those are what I need the most practice on.
