DiNovo replacement
« on: Sun, 22 May 2011, 00:59:01 »
Hey,

So I have a DiNovo which I basically only use for usage when in front of the tv. Its nice cause it has a little mousepad on the side. It´s starting to give up on me and Id rather not have to pay almost 200 euros for a replacement. Any ideas on what to choose thats wireless and has a little mousepad on it?

What about this thing (Logitech): http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Keyboard-Controller-Revue-Google/dp/B0040QE998

Have heard it works with W7 fine with a few very minor quirks.

If you meant the diNovo Mini I would replace it with a Rii Mini\Candyboard Mini\Ultra Mini. That's what I did anyways.

cherry has a keyboard with touchpad that is bluetooth if you're looking for something more fullsize. can't remember the model number g86? but they are usually about half the price of a dinovo.

I can get into the BIOS of my ancient Asus A8NSLI-Deluxe HTPC in a wiring closet 25 feet below my living room.  The Logitech DiNovo Mini + Bluetooth + USB combo rulez.

I have had all sorts of problems with the DiNovo Mini and my HTPC is in the living room. The Rii Mini however has worked flawlessly so far and the touchpad is much better.

Actually I found that the game rift disrupts the alt^tab functionality. I accidentally spilled a very small amount of water on it at the same time I started playing it, so Ill be sticking with my current board :)

So I got a replacement last time from logitech and the keyboard is dying on me again. I will probably go for a Logitech k400. Seems cheap and working well http://www.prisjakt.nu/produkt.php?p=941685. Its got a nordic layout, its full size and thats seems to work well ~5m from computer and thats pretty muccch what i ask.

I don't know how much shipping would be, but I have a dinovo edge keyboard that I don't use anymore. I got it a few years ago, used it for like 2 years before finding mech keyboards. Last  time I used it it was working fine and the battery would last at least a month with a 2-3 hours of daily use. There was a small dent on the metal part when I moved it once, but it's only aesthetic. I have the usb plug, charger and I think I even have the original box.

If someone is interested, I could look at the shipping costs. I would sell it for like 40$.
