Is this mouse any good?

I liked it, but my hands sweat a lot which scared the crap out of me with all of its openings so I got rid of it.

Like any mouse, how good the shape is depends on playstyle, grip and particular anatomy.

When it comes to the sensor, there are good and bad things to say about it. The Philips Twin Eye sensor that the mouse uses does not have the dreaded acceleration that so many people try to avoid at all cost (not only distance moved, but also speed with which the mouse is moved factors into how the cursor on the screen moves). However, the sensor has quite a serious "z-axis" tracking issue which makes it a sensor that some deem unusable to those who pick up the mouse a lot (mostly low sensitivity players).

Other than that I am just skeptical of any Mad Catz product based on past experiences.

Also keep in mind that this has a laser sensor, which is not a precise as optical sensors. I have a g700 with a laser sensor, and while I do like the mouse a lot, the difference is noticeable if I pay attention compared to my brother's mouse.

It's the PTE, which has its own problem, but it has no hardware acceleration.  G700 laser =/= PTE

In regards to the mouse, I really liked mine, but I have decently large hands and love a palm grip. If you use a claw/fingertip grip, this mouse is probably way too heavy for your playstyle.

As mentioned below, It's probably a bad choice for low-sensitivity players, but I play at a high sensitivity, so I had absolutely no issues with mine. I only stopped using it because I borked the cable, and that could easily be fixed with a bit of soldering.
