Drivers for Skidata GMK?
« on: Fri, 13 February 2015, 15:05:40 »
Dears,

I beg for help. After a few months since my presentation, and reading you and checking the ebay, I've racked up some Cherrys here in Germany, and am completely fine with them. I like blacks, blues and clears, and really can't stand reds and browns, but that's a matter of taste.

This said: I bought the skidata GMK, the blue thing from the only Ebay seller who stacks them, but despite my messages, and his product description, I can't get hold of the drivers to make the 60 additional keys work.
By lurking Geekhack, I've seen that someone has got a hold of it, even if usually to cannibalize the clear keys.

Please: does anyone have the drivers? Without them, I am stuck with a good keyboard, but lacking 7 keys that I often use, and with 60 completely useless pieces of junk.
Why 7? the 6 usually over the 4 arrows, and the 7th is the little thing before "1", that in normal keyboards is there, and here is replaced by ESC. I don't want to return it, I really like it and hate ebay controversies.

If anyone has the drivers, please let me know, I happily buy them / swap them. Money, or a G80-1502, or some ordinary keycaps, white or black, sorry for not having anything more appealing.

PS no, Google search does not yield anything, and I try you before contacting GMK for a useless (for them) download.

Thanks mates
Matt

The software is proprietary in house software for Skidata, and they will not release it to public. If you want to make the board fully user programmable the only way is to replace the controller yourself and program it with soarers or TMK firmware. If that is too much effort, I would suggest to grab a standard winkeyless G80-1800, or a kit board like this and swap the switch/keycap as desired from the Skidata board.
