SA & DSA Profile Keycap/Typing Videos
« on: Thu, 20 March 2014, 12:57:54 »
So I was scouring the venerable Youtube when I noticed a dire lack of videos pertaining to SA and DSA keycaps.

If anyone could help me find some videos or be willing to make a quickie video and post it in this thread, I'd appreciate it very much.

Thanks.

"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Thanks!

Question: are DSA and SA all the same height keycaps? If so, how does it feel?

SA is higher profile and sculpted (the keycaps at the top and bottom rows are at a steeper angle than those in the middle).
DSA keycaps are not sculpted—an f key is exactly the same profile as a modifier.

Also, thanks for the vid, Rowdy.

That bottoming out sound is insanely appealing to me.

Ergo clears have a distinct bottoming out sound, like it's more hollow and lighter than the other switches.

I want to mod my stock clears to 62g or 65g ergo-clears, but I would have to ship it overseas, blergh... And I'd prefer a 60% instead of the TKL I have. :/ Contemplating whether I should sell it or mod it at the moment. I want a EgDx now as well, after seeing that video, haha.

I should clarify that that is not my video, just something I found after a quick YT search.
