Noppoo Choc Mini is kill
« on: Sat, 01 March 2014, 00:06:36 »
Always feel bad registering just for asking for help but keyboards are expensive:

My Noppoo Choc Mini stopped working one day, I've since then ordered a new keyboard but this is my only MX Blue keyboard..
There was nothing that triggered it to stop, one day I plug it in and it just doesn't turn on, no lights turn on, spamming capslock/delete/start does nothing.

What's the problem and how do I fix it? It works on no PC so it's not specific to this computer, I've tried other USB ports, PS/2, nothing man.

not sure about your rules of double posting sorry if im breaking da rules
just took apart the noppoo and I see this

all but the unlabeled pin (far right) are unconnected!, if I get a soldering iron and just re solder it, will that work?

EDIT:
didnt realize i could edit sorry
i soldered it a bit and that didnt change a thing, I realize now that the USB plugin's pins go through to the otherside,
I can't figure out how to look at that side, and it feels pretty loose, anyone know how to get to the part under the keycaps?

thanks

EDIT 2:
think i might have found the problem...

to fix this do I have to take off the keycaps, and then the switches, and then solder it?
I really like this keyboard.

Thanks guys

yeah those pads are no longer there! you just need to follow the traces to their next joint, and then attach bare wire between the connector and the joint - you might not have to take all the switches off if all the traces are on the bottom side you are looking at.
I got boards.

Yeah I found that out, I've been trying to solder wires to the pins using the solder already on there but the combination between me having super shaky hands and being not very good at soldering I'm not sure what all I can do at the moment
