Hi,

I've never owned a mechanical keyboard before.
I was looking in to buying one and found the CODE keyboard (by WASD). Interest peeked but no stock.
And then they announced a new version with Cherry MX greens. Time to find out what the difference between those switches actually is. WHAT? Even more different switches. What a f*cking timesink.

So there I was googling stuff, ordered a test set from WASD, googling some more and found out about the ErgoDox.

I was sold.

More googling and I found this crazy corner of the internet where (also crazy?) people do nothing but go on about their keyboards, switches, caps, ... And where one good soul was offering a kit for ErgoDox (http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=50040.msg1208809#msg1208809).

In the process of ordering and wasting time finding a nice keycap set to go with it

Would you recommend buying a test kit, for a fellow confused GeekHacker?

I liked (and still do) the test kit.
It gives an idea at least. Beats going blind if you have no nerd friends to test different switches.
