WTT Mkawa's Group Buy Soldering Kit for a 60% or TKL
« on: Mon, 10 March 2014, 18:58:56 »
Hi, So I have come to the relization that my eyes are bigger than my stomach, IE I don't have the money for all the KB stuff I want. That being said I am forced to prioritize.  I just spent $200 on mkawas group buy soldering kit(I will add the exact contents after I find out exactly what is in there). I received the kit a few days ago and haven't even opened the box yet, so everything is still BNIB hasn't even been seen by me. I was going to learn how to solder, but with time and money being  rare commodity's nowadays due to my second baby coming in 6 months :) I am forced to decided between soldering and another keyboard. I am picking the keyboard since that makes the most sense to me. So My question is this... Is anyone willing to trade me either their TKL or 60% preferably MX blues but I am open to anything for my $200 Soldering kit? I realize I need to list the contents for an informed decision to be made and hopefully I will get them tonight. So any offers???

Included is the following:

1x Edsyn CL1481 soldering iron
1x Small soldering tip
1x Large soldering tip
1x Edsyn/GH DS017GH Krytox-enhanced Soldapullt
1x Edsyn KP101 flush cutter
1x 1oz Kester 44 RA 63/37 0.02" unexpired solder on custom GEEKHACK spool!
1x (NEW!) Edsyn IP481 Soldering iron holder (includes tip cleaner and PD528 pod!)
plus the TH107

I will send you an MX Blues Quick Fire Rapid that I used over the summer if you find someone new to soldering who could use the kit and get it to them.

I would absolutely love it.. If you agree to that ^

I've been looking at purchasing one to upgrade from my $5 iron that scared me to use.

I like this idea. I have a shine 3 fullsize so I would like either a TKl or a 60%. Do you have pics of your quickfire?

I can go take some when I get home. My dad borrowed it over the weekend cause his rubber dome keyboard died. It has a DSA retro set on at the moment but that's bonus for you since I also have the stock keycaps for it that I never used.

If you don't need the function row on the fly than get a 60%, if you do get the TKL.

If you don't need the function go on the fly than get a 60% if not get the TKL.

I am leaning towards the 60% more and more. But on a different note, I have plenty of opportunity to make more money, Helping someone just feels good

I also have a Poker II I could swap you but it has MX Browns and has been lent to a friend in NYC in the hopes of pulling him into our habit so it'd take a bit longer for me to send that your way.

Pardon my noobness but that is 60% correct? If that is the case I am more interested in that one, despite the wait.

I'd be extremely grateful and appreciative of both of you if this works out and you take nuclearsandwich's board. I was speaking to a few members, as well as mkawa, about a soldering setup, but couldn't afford to get a good one at this point in time. I will cover all shipping fees, no problem. And add some cash on my end as well. If this works out I can FINALLY do my ergo clear mod with a sense of comfort.

Yeah it's probably the most popular 60% because it has standard sized keycaps and a decent default layout as well as a programmable layer. Some new ones are white and some are fully backlit. Mine is neither but it has delightful PBT keycaps and is loads of fun to type on. Here's an old pic of it wearing Space Cadet caps

Yeah I'm in no hurry. Like I said the board isn't with me at the moment. Also in the interest of full transparency I do want to state that the Space Cadet stays with me. When you get it it'll look like this.
