Hello from Vancouver BC!

Hi guys,

Im a 3rd year compsci student and I recently got into mechanical keyboards after I was helping build my friends PC about a month ago. We were picking out a new keyboard from him and thats when the salesperson showed me my first mx cherry key tester. After that, i was hooked onto getting a new keyboard for myself! Currently have a dk9008p on order and am planning on doing the ergo-clear mod since I couldn't find my favorate switch in a full size keyboard (clears). Soon, once I get enoguh posts, I hope to also take part of the marketplace and be able to sell any unused parts that may be part of my general modifications to my keyboard. I really hope I could continue to learn more about mechanical keyboards and why they kick ass.

Hello, fellow Vancouverite! Also, ergo-clears are awesome! Takes a while to get them to stick less, but it's all worth it ^^
Yeah all the action seems to be in the classifieds and group buys here :P

Yeah i heard about the issue of it sticking...are these normally fixed with changing the springs to something heavier? Or am i still going to need to lube? If so, i might as well just consider keeping clears instead.

It gets better through use
As well, lube helps; might as well get some lube and stickers as well if you're modding :P search up originative's website or check their vendor forum if you feel up to buying that stuff. However, I think the owner is pretty busy atm and hasn't been responding to pms

Another Vancouverite!  :) Welcome.

As for Ergo Clears, most people recommend 62-65g (gold) springs in conjunction with the proper krytox lube mixture for optimal feel.

Vancouver, huh?  The most beautiful city in North America, IM(not so)HO! 

There are a few full-size keyboards that show up with MX Clears, but if you're already planning to do Ergo-Clears, replacing switches isn't that complicated.  Personally I like the Ducky full-size boards (my primary board for work - using one now), but I've been happy with the Cooler Master Trigger I bought last year, and the Keycool 108 I got around Boxing Day.

Thanks everyone for such a warm welcome! I hope to be a decent and valued member in this forum as there seems to be tons of support. Definitely will show some pics of the mods I'll be doing in the coming weeks.
