[WTB] Stock Clear Springs
« on: Wed, 26 February 2014, 17:53:44 »
Just got my 3rd ErgoDox in, and I tried a couple of the Blue switches out with Clear springs instead. Lemme just say YUMM. Absolutely amazing.

Unfortunately I only have about 8 clear switches lying around, and I want to mod the entire board.

So if anybody's got 70+ stock clear springs lying around, I'd gladly take them off your hands!

There's a few of us this side of the pond who'd wholeheartedly agree with you on that :thumb:  The only debate is what to call them - popular opinion would be MX Blears - I prefer MX Super Blue though :))

Clear springs are not only stronger but are shorter in length.... Does it make blues nice and snappy or something?

They're not actually shorter, height-wise, but they do have less coils, which increases the stiffness when compressed.

IIRC When I took apart my clear switches and compared them to stock brown springs they were shorter :/ I'll have another look at home tonight! Might pop some of the clear springs into some blues to see what all the fuss is about too :)

By golly you're right. I pulled some apart last night and noticed that the clear springs were definitely shorter than the blues.

Anywho, got some springs on the way, thx everybody!
