First I want to let ya know I will NOT be including pics. LOL I do want people to read this thread and respond and the pics are quite nasty.
Hi, I just wanted some advice as to a solution for my problem. THE PROBLEM. I recently changed fields, and have went from roofing to working at a computer desk, for a technology support company. I started working inside in December, approx 3 months ago. I have since developed a nasty rash under my right armpit, I have had it for about a month and a half. It has gotten to the point where I do not put deodorant on it and haven't for a few weeks in hopes that maybe that was the cause. It was not as the rash is still as prevalent as ever. I have come to the conclusion that the cause is due to the multiple times I move my right arm from my mouse to the keyboard, and have noticed how much longer I have to reach to clear my num pad. Due to this I think the time has come for me to either get a TKL or a 60%. I like the idea of the 60% but since I do use the arrow keys alot I am unsure if I can make it work. Can I have some feedback as to the size difference and how difficult it is to to use the arrow keys on the 60% Also I am interested if anyone else has had this slightly embarrassing issue other than me and what your remedy was

Perhaps you should see a doctor, and let him know what you think and see his opinion. You might think it's due to your keyboard, but it doesn't seem likely, and the cause may be something else entirely.

A rash caused by repetitive movement? Doubt it. If you would feel pain in your back or at any muscles, that would be something, a rash is probably caused by something different, maybe the different clothing? Would recommend seeing a doc, too.

I don't think I've ever moved my right arm at the shoulder to reach my mouse.

yeah there's no way this is caused by having or not having a TKL. talk to a skin doc!

Ok You guys just verified it. Half of me was hoping it was caused by the keyboard so I could justify getting a new TKL lol. Ah well I guess I have to face reality. Thanks

Get a new TKL anyway. Or a 60%. Definitely nice to make the transition. I used to think that I would never love anything but fullsize keyboards, and I was very hesitant to make the switch. But now, I love 60%, then TKL, and fullsize I wouldn't even buy...

Buy a new keyboard, then go to the doctor.

Honestly, the keys that are "missing" (arrows and homecluster) are present on a 60%, they're just there on a function layer.
After a while of use, you honestly won't even realize there's no physical key, it becomes second nature to just hold the function key down and press the new key-binding for them.

For example, on my kbt pure, I just hold Fn[penguin] with my right thumb, and
Up - o
Down - k
Left - l
Right - ;
Delete - Backspace
Home - ,
End - .
PgUp - j
PgDwn - m

As for the rash, I'm a nurse. I'd recommend you see your GP/whatever your alternative is to one where you live :p I highly doubt it is due to the keyboard, if anything it sounds like some sort of allergic reaction to some clothing(although it seems a bit strange to be just under one arm).

I'd also add that if you hold Fn + space and let go on a KBT Pure, the right shift, Ctrl, Alt, and windows keys become an arrow cluster.  It's great if you don't use right shift all that much.

Yes the fact that it is only under 1 are makes me wonder, I came to my conclusion based on that and the fact that I use that same arm to move my mouse and type all day. But I think I like the idea of a 60% and I may be able to get away with using FN for the arrows and what not

And Yes I do plan on seeing a doc

Thanks
