personally the best way to deal with the bottom row mods is go for a RGB set and grab a spacebar from another source (ivan's GB for spacebars will be handy for that)

Yeah thats  true, I just love the all black sets. Always wanted one but the bottom row is a pain. I'm not super into multi colored sets.

Are the mods off centered stems on these? Is that the problem?

Dirt is no issue, just pop em in the dishwasher or do the denture tablet routine

The only issue when buying caps is shine, and fortunately, these don't look that bad. Some wear, but not countless hours to the point of smoothness

There are two ongoing GB's (feng and Dubsgalore) you should check them out if you're interested.  Both are Cherry profile, but different colors etc.
