Keyset help
« on: Sat, 22 March 2014, 08:08:27 »
Hi All,

I am looking for a 7x black spacebar and a off center caps lock keys. Alternatively a full keyset would be ok, ideally a Dolch keyset :D  Any advice where to find those ?

I went though the classified adds and had a browse through ebay but I could find anything:(

Thanks for your advice !!!

You have missed some vital information, like profile (DSA, SA, DCS, OEM), plastic (ABS, PBT, POM) and some colours.

SP has lots of different space bars: http://keyshop.pimpmykeyboard.com/product/spacebar-inventory

Originative has, or had, Dolch sets: http://www.originativeco.com/collections/keysets/products/dolch

But Sherry is currently MIA, so exercise caution there.

Off-centre-stemmed caps lock are more difficult to come by.  Your best bet might be to look for eBay auctions of old Cherry keyboards.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Hi Thanks for the feedback. I think I manage to find a suitable space bar. I'll keep looking for the caps lock!

I recently ordered on Originative, he has verry good stuff. But unfortunately I am missing some bits from my order and no feedback from Sherry :(
