Saying hi from Scotland!
« on: Sun, 16 March 2014, 14:31:46 »
Been lurking on these forums for a while now... figured it was time to step out of the shadows and introduce myself c:

So... hi! I'm Momo~

I got my first mechanical keyboard last Thursday but I haven't had a chance to play around with it yet >: I got it to go with my new PC build (first time of having a desktop PC - sooo excited) but sadly my case arrived faulty so I'm waiting around now to get that replaced before I can actually build my PC. These forums have been keeping me entertained/amazed (custom keycaps and wrist rests ftw <3) for the last few days while I wait anxiously to play with my new toys!

Thanks for reading and I look forward to getting to know people/keyboards! :3

I'm alright, innit! How bout you bruv?

...For some reason I default to this whenever I want to appear more British... I blame the fact I'm from England but live in Scotland, it throws me off! >.>

Thankies for the welcome! :3

You just broke my dream, that I knew everything about English, after I had read Shakespeare.  :-[

Howdy. What kind of case did you get? The first case I ordered was also wrecked in transit too.

Nonono, it's okay. You totally know everything there is to know about English, I promise <3

Hihi! :3 I got a Cooler Master Storm Enforcer. I'm hoping they get back to me soon and replace the broken part - it's just the windowed side panel that isn't okay, everything else is fine. I just don't want to build the PC and then have them tell me I need to return the whole case, that'd just be a pain :c

Welcome fellow drinker!

Why thankies, fellow haggis eater~! ;)

Scotland is really pretty for the most part - you just have to get past the almost constant rain. If you planned it right and came in the summer you might get to see our one and only sunny day per year! Teehee~

You'll be able to look stylin' in the rain. Or you can tell people you're keeping the rain out of your eyes or something. Tell them your eyes are allergic to water so you can't risk being out without your sunglasses and raincoat on rainy days. Everyone will be fooled.

Alternatively you could film a remake of Singin' in the Rain where you're wearing your very nice raincoat and sunglasses; it'd be so epic I'd watch it at least two times.

Really the options are limitless... not that you were looking for options of what to do with your raincoat and sunglasses... <.<;

Ah, a fellow sassenach who's migrated to the north - Welcome! I've been in Scotland well over half my life now and I'm stuck in no mans land. My English friends think I speak like a Scot, but the Scots say I sound as English as I ever was. I guess I shouldn't complain as I'm close to Dundee and the Dundonian accent can be hideous, so small mercies!

I have the same issue! I've ended up with a really mixed accent when I talk to people. I still talk to my family in an English accent though... it just automatically switches XD I'm near Glasgow so... I'll stick with my mixed accent I think :>

Salutations, I am another new member here and have just ordered my first mechanical keyboard.

I ordered components to build a PC a couple of months ago as well, and my case also came with a little bit of damage. It's probably considered minor damage, but my OCD side allows it to drive me crazy. The case is a Corsair 750D and on the front pannel, one of the hinges holding the piece of aluminum in front of the fans came broken. It works fine, but the piece of aluminum sticks out about half a centimeter or two and it compromises the styling because the rest of the front panel is flat and is supposed to "flow" with the piece of aluminum sticking out. I didn't bother to return it because I wanted to build the computer and waiting another week or two seemed a little useless at the time, but every time I look at it my eye starts twitching. Once I fill all the drive bays it will hopefully not be noticeable anymore.

This post quickly got boring and longer than I was planning, but I wish you good luck in your endeavors and I hope you get a replacement case ASAP. Good day.

Mmmm, that's a nice looking case. I hope filling all your drive bays does fix the problem, I know it sucked to hold up my build to have it replaced D: What kind of keyboard did you order? :3
