I have been lurking on Geekhack for some time and I have been using Mechanical keyboards for a while now.
I started with buying a Filco TKL with white ALPS from keyboardco, which I liked at first, but the keys just felt a bit wrong to me, kind of sticky. Hence, my journey continued to find another keyboard. Next up was the Steelseries 6Gv2, with black switches. It felt different, better in some aspects, but it was just way too big. Back to Filco and keyboardco, this time a MiniLa, great keyboard, with blue switches, these I think are the best ones so far. However the layout of the MiniLa is a bit too crowded. So I found a Group Buy on Massdrop, where i got myself a Poker II, which I very recently received.
I still have all of those keyboards, I kind of broke the space key on the White ALPS keyboard, couldn't find a new White ALPS switch, but got a couple of green ones from eBay, which the space button is now. So it still works and I sometimes grab and type a bit on from time to time.
I prefer US layouts on my keyboards, because the keys I use, for syntax when programming, are grouped together, which you don't find on Nordic layouts, where they are scattered a lot more. So you might have guessed correctly, I am a software dev and besides that I am in the middle of my M.Sc. in Digital Media Engineering, which I should hopefully be finished with at the end of this year.
