New keyboard
« on: Sun, 11 May 2014, 15:07:15 »
Hi.

So atm ive got a Ducky G2Pro Dyesub grey/white PBT. Wich is pretty nice, but i would like to try a more custom keyboard !

Im looking for a 60% Or a TKL could work aswell with PBT keycaps, in a aluminium case with nordic layout.

I dont even know if there is such a thing, without building it from the ground up ? Wich i dont think i got the skills to pull of sadly. with soldering etc

I know the price is gonna be pretty hefty, if i wanna buy it complete, but that doesnt worrie me to much.

The only board that comes to mind is the Ducky Mini in Nordic. The problem is that it doesn't have PBT keycaps and I'm not sure if there are any cases for them yet. Someone will most likely come along here shortly and provide some more information.

You can get almost any ISO layout TKL or 60% board, a set of PBT keycaps and an aluminium case (but make sure it will fit that particular board first!) and do it yourself without any soldering / desoldering. You just have to use a screwdriver to remove the board from the old case and put in in the new one.

Something like this Poker 2 from Amazon UK: http://www.amazon.co.uk/KBT-Poker-Mechanical-Keyboard-backlight/dp/B00GERIXBG/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1399886105&sr=8-4&keywords=Poker+2

Or this one which doesn't have backlighting, but comes with nice PBT keycaps already: http://www.amazon.co.uk/KBT-Poker-Mechanical-Keyboard-Backlight/dp/B00GERK25G/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1399887178&sr=8-1&keywords=Poker+2

Then some nice thick PBT Ducky keycaps: https://www.teraset.net/product_details.php?p=10452#.U3CQbleEyHs
Or: https://www.teraset.net/product_details.php?p=10457#.U3CQoFeEyHs

And an aluminum case from a GH group buy, GH classifieds, one of the GH vendors or an online store like this: http://mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_list&c=44

And hey presto, 60% with Nordic layout PBT caps in an aluminium case.

Buying more keycaps,
it really hacks my wallet,
but I must have them.
