CM Novatouch

I'll probably get smacked for this as I'm sure someone has asked it but searching came up with some older threads.

Anyone know what the status on this keyboard's release date is? It was slated for first half of this year. Well, the half year is almost up and I want a Topre already!

Smack!

Although admittedly it is hidden in a not-exactly-directly related thread.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Awesome thanks for the reply guys.

I am saving my Topre needs for this board. I'm hoping that rep is right and it's worth the wait.

It's pretty much exactly what I wanted. Clean, logo free, TKL and I can use my cherry keys.

I've definitely buy one when it releases, simply because of the build quality of CM and MX compatible key-caps  ;D

Yeah, ever since Matt3o said SP would be putting some up for purchase, I've been compulsively checking their keyshop page!

Why you forsake us Matt3o/SP? Seriously though I just put a set of Cherry Doubleshoots on my Filco, and they might come off when these become available.

I'll most likely wait a few months till i see the initial impressions/reviews by the topre enthusiasts about this board.
If positive, and i'm quite optimistic about this board, ivan's blank thick pbt seems perfect.

Do we know yet if the sliders will be able to be transplanted into other topre boards (cough HHKB)?

SP?  I have been holding off forever to pickup a keyboard from work.  In the meantime I'm loving my blackbird I picked up for gaming at home, and I bring it into work every day.

I really like cherry browns switches so I wonder if my like for cherry browns despite most others hating them will also mean I will dislike the topre since most love it?  lol

I guess I have strange taste!

As someone else who has a few of those keysets coming, I'm seriously tempted to do this. It would basically be a realforce clone at that point  ;D

Realforce EK45 (Silenced)  |  Realforce 87UW (45g)  |  Realforce 87UWS (Variable)
Filco MJ2 TKL (Cherry Clears)  |  Phantom 87 (78g Gateron Clears)  |  Phantom 86 (67g Zealios)
