Wow.
Not saying this keyboard is bad, but did not think it would warrant such excitement :P

Very interesting review. The Tex sure does look great ... Especially on top of a macbook air or something ... Would love to see that one day!

Looks really nice, reminds me of a macbook pro a lot. Though the only thing that bothers me is the small shift key = O .

Using Cherry keycaps not a big problem. You can get 2.0 shift from G80-11*00, and 1.0 shift from minicoms. There are lots of random key or blanks that could be used for the Fn and ~. Only the spacebar would be problematic.
For other source like SP you would need to have shift made on same as numpad zero, also not a challenge.

I need the delete key up there (not fn).
Tab can be made 1X size and backslash the same, to fit in delete next to the backslash.

According to a post from ShakeR, who runs MechanicalKeyboards.com, it looks like  availability will be in May.

It also appears that the keyboard that I tested is a pre-production model.

Woah, sam is right.  The staggering in row 3 is not "normal"!  I wonder how that would affect fast touch-typists?

Keyboard looks nice, although the layout is a bit funky. Any idea on what the cost would be like?

Looks like they are averaging around $130 US, depending on the type of switch you choose. Cherry MX-Brown] is listed as $133.

Dang... I was hoping that it'd be cheaper. Guessing that the build quality must be very good.

The build quality is really high. I didn't see any flaws on the board I looked at and it was just a production sample. I'm told that the final production units are even better.

Plus, you're getting an aluminum topped keyboard with a plate for $130, when a plastic tray un-plated Poker is $90, so price wise, it's pretty good.

Seems very convincing. The keyboard does look nice also.

I don't think the logo looks that bad. Better than some of the others I've seen.

i don't like the large top bezel + logo - it is a 60% board, so your goal should be a small factor keyboard, and then you add a 2cm bezel, why :c
logo should be on the bottom really :)
but the thing i dislike the most is the layout, so many 1x1 in bottom right...1x1 shift is a no go for me. pure or poker layout and im in :D

cancel that, gh60 is here :D

You'd probably adjust but who knows..  Filco did the same thing with their 60% keyboard too...I don't really think that is the way to go....If you REALLY want to add dedicated arrow keys to a 60% type board,  probably best to do it the way Leopold and Matias did...where you extend the keyboard out a bit and out the arrows off to the side...

The issue with all of them will be finding replacement keycaps...Which is why things  like the Poker is attractive..you can actually find stuff for it...

Justin, will you have a version with small plastic case, to keep the keyboard as compact as possible (like the Poker/Pure) ?
Please consider it!
Kinesis Contoured Advantage & Advantage2 LF with Cherry MX Red switches / Extra keys mod / O-ring dampening mod / Dvorak layout. ErgoDox with buzzer and LED mod.
Also: Kinesis Advantage Classic, Kinesis Advantage2, Data911 TG3, Fingerworks Touchstream LP, IBM SSK (Buckling spring), Goldtouch GTU-0077 keyboard

Those colors look great! Will they be available separately as an accessory, or do you purchase the keyboard in that color.

Also, any thoughts on a green one?

me want! me want!  ;) ;) ;)

(ps if you are making in different colours, please offer the fans a way to choose the colours. eg you could have a website and let people poll their favorite colours, and sell the 3-4 colours with the greatest demand.)

Most of the modding can be done on your own once you break through the psychological barriers.

I really wish the top bezel was symmetric with the bottom. That is, narrower, because the top only seems to make extra room for the Tex branding. If it was completely symmetric with less prominent branding (on the back ideally) it would be a very attractive 60% board.

in person, the size of the bezel is actually quite nice. it lends itself to a more classic design (dressier for sure). and the branding isn't that bad. this is my first time living outside of texas so the branding (though just a nice coincidence) reminds me of home...and vintage TI computer gear. i mentioned in another post how the pics make the bezel look bigger than it is. all in all it's still a mini kb for sure. also, i really wanted to add different keycaps to it but the more i use/look at it, the less inclined i am to mess with it (other than adding a blank set of black). i just feel that it's a more conservative alternative to other 60% keyboards.

Got mine today. So nice. I am loving the brown switches.

A couple of questions:
* Is there a list of the remappings somewhere?
* Middle clicking isn't working. What could be the issue? I can hold down and scroll, but clicking it doesn't work (e.g. in a browser to open a link in a new tab)
