Welp,

My bad guys. Last post I was steadfast on buying a keyboard. I got allot of great replies. Just couldn't pull the trigger on any of them. Also it seems like there is not that many keyboards out there in stock and prices have been going up? Well, any ways. What do ya'll think about this

- - - I also had a post where I discussed having mult copy paste ability (IE: COPY + 1 or COPY + 2 etc... all the way until 9.) Then you could paste whatever you saved to that key and have FN + - key to clear out all the copies.

Who could & How much could this be built for? I have got 300 bucks.

You could, and most likely could with less than $300. First, buy some switches of your choice, and a teensy (http://pjrc.com/store/teensy.html). Then, follow this guide: http://wiki.geekhack.org/index.php?title=Hard-Wiring_How-To

You'll need to get a plate made in your design to hold the switches, acrylic or steel or something.

Other than this option, you're not going to find something exactly like that. There are other options, like finding something close enough that is programmable, and working with it.

The minimum size a keycap can have is 1u for MX switches (defined by the size of the switch itself.) Those 3/4u high caps (Delete, Bold, ULine etc.) aren't going to work.

They could work, just not perfectly. You could cut some caps sides off and move the switches closer together.

If you really want such specialized functions hardwired into the keyboard, AFAIK, you are going to have to make your own custom keyboard. Otherwise, you could use application-specific keyboard commands using a standard keyboard.

Something that comes close to the layout you have indicated (without the word-processing-specific keys) is the Leopold FC660C (Topre switches) or FC660M (Cherry switches).

My own favorite layout in a 60% form factor is the HHKB Pro 2. Even when I am using a standard keyboard, I remap the keys in the HHKB Pro 2 layout.

As someone already suggested get an FC660 M/C, and get autohotkey to program the commands you need. Done, you may get what you need under $200.

A Realforce/Filco/WASD keyboard + Autohotkey is all you will ever need.
