Filco FKBN87MC/CB tenkeyless Blue-Switch just arrived from a direct order from Filco TW. Im' currently situated in Hong Kong and the cheapest way for me to get my hands on Filco keyboards is of course from the source Taiwan. This product isn't even listed on the Japan Filco site, and i've only found it on the Taiwan Filco site. I just couldn't resist the offer. I've tried blue cherry switches before and I was using a Filco Full-size brown switch before with ASC2 layout.
This keyboard is obviosuly smaller in size, and comes with the same ASCII layout, cept it has japanese engravings on the keys as well. Pictures will come later, but my first impressions of this keyboard is absolutely great. The reduced space that it takes up allows for my mouse to move closer to my fingers when i game which is a + for me. the build quality if superb as always, and I seem to have more fun typing on this particular keyboard than other blue cherry keyboards. Maybe it is also to do with the 850HKD that it cost me, ($112USD approx.)
Direct comparison with the brown switches of Filco. Since they are both from the same brand, its easier to make a direct comparison of the switches. THe browns definately feel alot softer and lighter when I type on them and it feel slike my fingers flow better on them. On the other hand, the blue-cherry switches CLICK, to my enjoyment and i seem to type much more accurate with the blue-cherry switches that i do with the browns.
In conclusion great keyboard. A rare find, i'll upload some photos once i get a chance to get a camera.
