How many hours have you spent on GH?
« on: Thu, 10 July 2014, 20:17:47 »
If you click your username and then "Show Stats" (near the PM link) you can see how long you've been logged in & active on GH.

My total is: 36 days, 3 hours and 42 minutes.

But I bet it's nothing compared to some of you guys  :p

Too many!

...181 days, 22 hours and 8 minutes....

It has been 470 days since you joined GH.  Rounding 181 days up to 182, you have literally spent over 38% of your total time alive since March 27, 2013 on GH.  That's including time spent sleeping and (I can only assume the quotes are accurate here) "working" (  :))  ).

Incredible.

OH.  You cheaters!  For reference I've never used Tapatalk, so my number is accurate.  But that might explain Ray's stats...

Hmmm 69 days, 12 hours and 34 minutes.

But what does that mean?  How long does a session last when you, say, look at unread posts, or after making a post?
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Hmm...

I joined GH about 6 months ago, and I have used Tapatalk since the beginning. My time counter would be much higher if I were always "logged in." My stat seems plausible (if a bit high :-[) for regular PC use, since I often have a GH tab open and check it every hour or so.

Any page loading action is valid for 5 mins. Afk time / keeping a browser tab open stops counting after 5 minutes of inactivity.

That's how a previous SMF forum I went on worked until it switched to IPB.

What about looking at the Spy?  That auto-refreshes - does it auto-refresh the timer and keep you effectively logged in as long as the Spy is open in a tab somewhere?

It has to. That's the only way I could have racked up 58 days. I keep spy open at all times (in case of flash sales)

True.

Any admins reading this?  How is time online actually counted? :D

Pretty sure it's number of page "requests" (ie, posts/refreshes etc). I'm not sure if spy's "refresh" counts though. The clock is quite easily abused if you were to make a F5-motron.  :))

21 days.
in other words, nothing.
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.
