Should I jump the gun ? I am wondering about their "color mixing technology" If I can color mix to make white I would be one happy camper!

I wonder how the resale value would be if I decide not to enjoy the keyboard.

Pretty sure the LEDs are all red or blue. IIRC those colors don't mix to white :D Stuff usually retains its value pretty well as long as you take care of it.

Hmm. True.... I just wish they had a Ducky mini with white leds. My PC is bright blue and White... I would get a Race , but I have heard it is hard to find keycaps for their shift, enter, and what not.

Buy a white Poker II without LEDs: http://www.vendio.com/stores/E-sports-Gaming-equipments/item//white-kbc-poker-2-61keys-mecha/lid=37280970

Then buy some white LEDs: http://www.wayjun.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=443

And solder them in. Great keyboard, great keycaps, white... lots of white. Those LED's are good, too. I put some in my Pure.
Buying more keycaps,
it really hacks my wallet,
but I must have them.

I didn't know that that would be possible. Is it pretty simple (I can solder, I mean as in does the pcb have a spot on it to accept the LEDs.

Pardon my noobishness. I am new here ... XD... Would a race 2 be able to have such a mode be done to it as well? There is a race 2 in the classifieds is why I am asking.

Y, if you can solder it's an easy mod. You just have to make sure you put them in the right way round (the correct polarity).

Hmmm... the Race 2. It's a nice enough board, but if you ever want to try other keycaps you've got a problem. The layout is too different and requires keycaps in sizes that NO aftermarket sets use. So you're stuck with stock caps.

AFAIK, they come with LED's already installed, so you'd have to desolder the old ones to put white ones in. That's a fair bit more work than just popping the new ones in, but not too much.

A little trick that helps when replacing LED's is to use one of the old ones as a template and cut all the leads of the LED's to length before installing them. This prevents the leads from drawing the solder out the hole when putting them in and leading to cold joints. When installing LED's in clear holes, though, you can just solder them in and trim the leads after.

The board in the classifieds is actually a race 1 without leds.  I may just save a bit more and get a poker 2 with leds pre installed.  Hmm.  Decisions decisions decisions.

The Poker II with LEDs comes with thin ABS caps and they don't come with white LEDs. The one without comes with thick PBT caps and it's easier to put LEDs in than to replace them, so I would still recommend the unbacklit Poker II. The oversize Del and Esc keycaps make the Race unappealing to me since I like to change keycaps pr at least have the option to do so.

Hm, I see. Thanks for the advice! My next board will be a Pokey 2 without a backlight then!
