I've only played #1&2 with origin and it wasn't that bad. They relaxed a lot of their BS once everyone complained.

I did uninstall / remove / purge-with-fire all the origin stuff once I was done though.

Other than them not doing sales as often or as big as steam, I really don't see why people would complain about it more than steam.
