Last year at CES someone in the Sands was passing out Katayaki Cookies/Crackers. Almost broke my tooth, but the booth babe thought it was funny so she gave me a couple more. Now I'm addicted and can't find them anywhere in the States, even shipped.
Anyone know where to find these things, without buying a ticket to Japan?

My sister in law gets all her funky foods at an international market. They sell a plethora of seaweed wrapped versions of everything you can imagine, squid jerky, bulut (barf) etc etc. If you have any international markets, I would try there first.

I have tried the Japanese markets in the Phoenix area, but they just look at me like I'm "different", then point me to either those stick looking treats (which the Butter and herb are not too bad, sun dried tomato are great ), or crackers made from soy. No luck on the cookie.

This is the Katayaki cookie that I am referring to.

Thanks for the heads up on the Hobnobs, will have to look for those now. That will be 2 snacks I will have to put on my travel plans.

I don't know how it's spelled I just know it's f*cking nasty.
