Got me another F-122!
« on: Wed, 24 September 2014, 15:23:42 »
Hi guys! I just wanted to express my joy after finding my second Model F keyboard! I'm pretty happy as the Model Fs have proven to be my favorite keyboard time and time again.

The one I bought appears to be in great condition, although as we all know that remains to be seen for sure.

Anyway it's from 1985 so it's nice and old. Here's the eBay link for those that are curious:

Grats! Seems to have quite a lot of rust, but it can work 100% even with that.

Enjoy!

Congrats! Model F's are my favorite too. I hope the internals aren't too bad.  Is that spacebar a bit warped, or does it just appear that way from the photo?

Yeah man, I noticed that for sure. Somewhat soon I'll end up contacting someone on here for some refurbishing work; it's not that I don't enjoy modding, it's just that I want it done right for this rare keyboard.

I just love my other 122 so much I had to get one more, "just in case".

Good catch, it does indeed appear to be a bit warped, but if I recall correctly, a few intuitive GH members have found a way to use a Model M space-bar on the F if need be.

Seems to have quite a lot of rust,

That may be board chow. But you are right, rust doesn't have much effect on performance.
"We are on the precipice of signing an agreement to advance talks with Iran that preserves the good parts of former President Barack Obama’s Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) while amplifying its flaws.
Mr. Obama came to an agreement that did not involve America’s most precious treasure, the lives and limbs of our soldiers.  The 1.7 billion dollars of frozen Iranian assets released by Obama pales in comparison to the 300 billion being floated as a rebuilding fund.
So far, speculation that Iran will be free in the future to continue its nuclear program is the opposite of Trump’s stated goal for the war and in direct opposition to what Mr. Obama negotiated.

Do you guys really feel a benefit from going to a TKL? I've always wondered if I'll be better off ergonomically and prevent my shoulder joints from further wear if I go TKL.

Definitely.

Am I going to be a curmudgeon like you because I also love F-122s? If so I'm in great company. Haha.

Am I going to be a curmudgeon ?

Don't be ridiculous.

This keyboard is older than you, isn't it?

So if I am older than my F122 (slightly) it means I am at risk?  :o

I feel lucky to have an F-122 built 1 day after my 33rd birthday.

not bad for $135. Case is cracked of course, but 122 M cases are cheap. You just need to find one with the proper feet on it.

I may do my F-122 like our friend fohat.digs did here in his, "naked" F-122 and indeed it does look really good!
