Oioi!
« on: Sun, 28 September 2014, 08:57:01 »
Sup!

New here, but browsed through the forums several times before.

I have a few mechanical keyboards lying around like a Tt Meka G1, a Corsair Vengeance K60, a CM Storm Quickfire TK and now a KBP V60 from Pexon PC's :D
MX-Reds my favourite switches as play a lot of CS:GO.

Going to be making a fancy new case for my cherry ML4700 number pad out of wood, keep it updated as a project on here.
I use one of these at home and at work, I'm a CAD Draftsman for a bespoke furniture company and found that my left hand was almost useless when working in AutoCAD.
It was just hovering over ESC. I also use the same mouse at home and work, the Func MS-3 R2.
I put most common macros and tools onto my mouse, then rebound commands as numbers.
For example 'dimlinear' became '79', 'stretch' became '46', 'scale' became '19', etc.
Now I'm the fastest CAD wizard in the west with both my hands working at once, keyboard only needed for text :P
I hope to change the cable position on the number pad to the top left corner and change the fixed cable to a mini USB port for a Pexon cable.

Below is a picture of my Quickfire TK at insomnia 52, then a picture of my new setup with the KBP V60.

Now to decide which Pexon cable to get for the KBP!
I'm thinking purple or HMS grey, carbon techflex, purple shrink? Opinions?

Will probably get a couple of real short cables to mini and micro usb for charging peripherals and external hdd in Miami cord too.

Welcome to GeekHack!

Oooh that wooden num pad case sounds interesting!  Please post it in the making stuff together! sub-forum.

Choosing a color combo was the delaying factor in my purchase so I let pexon choose the color combo for me.  'still waiting for it in the mail but dang they look awesome in those pics! :thumb:

Welcome to Geekhack!

Nice setup, and practical too!  Definitely someone for whom mechanical keyboards have made you more efficient!
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Welcome! I'm currently weighing in what I wish to put my ghpad when it arrives, and I too want it both detached and to the left of my main keyboard
