Filco PBT
« on: Sun, 12 October 2014, 19:27:25 »
Hey guys, I have a Filco TKL, but I'm looking for blank PBT keycaps for them- they don't have to be doubleshot.

Any recommendations?  :)

HHKB Type S

There's no such thing as doubleshot blanks.

The Leopold thick PBTs are pretty good and easy on your wallet.

I saw those on the thread below! They are definitely an option, but before I go for those, I want to make sure there isn't a non-Leopold set, mostly because of the small plastic bit on the Caps Lock key that is meant for the small LED light in there.

Tai Hao do doubleshot blanks :p
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

I don't think there's a non leopold set.
Too bad you missed the vortex drop, that was pretty decent and affordable.
TBH I don't really think the plastic thing would really bother you too much and the filco caps light indicator is in the top right corner not under a keycap anyways.
The set also includes a stepped capslock I think its officially for the FC660 though. Dunno about the compatibility with other keyboards, since I'm in San Diego right now I can't test it

Also look into Ducky, maybe some DSA sets.

ducky blank black
ducky premier pbt sets
dsa pbt

blank black will be most similiar, but it's only in stock intermitently.  i think the premier sets hqve better availability, so pick a colorway you like ;)
