Green or blue switches?

I realize its completely personal reference but which do you prefer and why? i've only used browns, but im going to be switching to either blue or greens.

Sadly I have no store near me to test any out and I dont see the point in buying a sampler for 1/5th of the keyboard id buy.

Would love to hear some opinions!

Clicky Matias switches! Or SMK “monterey” blue switches, or clicky white/blue/amber Alps, or amber Omrons, or clicky black Hi-Tek “space invaders”, or IBM buckling springs, or NEC switches, ...

Cherry clicky switches, both the blue and green varieties, are quite uninspiring.

I could be wrong, but keyboards with MX green switches are not as common, and thus a bit more likely to retain their value if you decide you don't like them and want to sell the keyboard.

That is also quite subjective.

I find that it does, but on the other hand you might experience fatigue in your hands and fingers due to the stiffer springs.  Many people do.

Guess I can do what you suggested, buy it and if I dont like it can always sell it. I've typed on a blackwidow before and liked it so I imagine id like greens aswell.

Always baffles me when people switch to blues. But I don't know, I guess Blues over greens, not a personal fan of heavy switches.

Greens!

Though I started out with blues, I later learned that they were too light for me. I've had moments where I had trouble resetting the actuation point when I'm trying to double or even triple tap while gaming.

I don't know how much this means to you, but when I went to look for CM QuickFire Rapids in my local stores, one store ONLY had Green switches in stock, and 3-4 of them were all open box.

If this is your first keyboard, I highly recommend a lighter switch like blue over greens. It is not realistic to type on greens for most people. Personally I love IBM Bucking spring, and I find greens to be a lot heavier than them.

Greens over blues. I use browns every day, I find mx blacks too heavy for me, but when it comes to clicky switches I feel blues lack the necessary weight to give a satisying response after the click. Greens feel crisper in that sense.

My ex has my blue board so I haven't typed on them in a long time, but I remember them feeling a bit rattly (especially the ones in my friend's original Black Widow).  My ghetto-greens (blue stems, clear springs) feel more positive and consistent, a huge improvement.  I'm a mechanic by day, so my fingers don't get tired from the extra spring strength.

I've got a blue switch board but whenever I rest my finger on the key, it registers. It might be too light for me but I guess greens might be too heavy as well.
But I'd go with the latter. Greens are awesome. Have one on my caplocks, :D

Honestly OP, judging from the responses in this thread, I feel we can all agree on the fact that this is very subjective. You must try for yourself to know for sure.

Might go with greens first. Mechanicalkeyboards.com says they accept returns so worse case senario I return it and buy the blue verison.

The problem is that preference depends on daytime: in the morning, when my fingers are shiftless, blues feel not too light, rather ok. In the evening, when my fingers are full of power, blues feel too light.

Went to a local store and tried the black widow ultimate and the keys felt a bit light compared to my browns. Guess I should go with greens then? I'm no professional typist by any means I can only type at 60wpm. I'm just trying to improve.

Get blues in a pcb mounted board or anything that lets you open the switch without de-soldering (like a phantom) and then put korean 65g springs in them.

Those felt better than stock blue or green to me.

Typist here: I prefer blue. I get tired and sore fingers quicker with greens. I don't game so I can't tell anything about gaming usage.

Honestly ... Neither ... When it comes to clicky Cherry switches I like MX Whites the best but you'd have to sort through several bags of switches just to build a keyboard due to the inconsistency.  I think it's crazy MechanicalKeyboards.com continues to stock keyboards with them - I'd imagine it has to be one of the most RMA'ed switch types.
