Realforce 87u 45g key feel

Hey guys, i just bought a realforce 87u 45g and I noticed the 1,Q,A,Z are mushy compared to the rest of the keys. Is this normal or is my keybaord defective?

It's possible the domes are shifted slightly.

That all depends on if you want to try and fix it yourself, it isn't super hard but will most likely void the warranty in the process and could be frustrating and might take you a few tries to fix.

 Not sure where you are and where you bought it from but I would certainly think the keys feeling different would qualify for a return if you aren't comfortable trying to fix it.

Alright thanks, Im in Canada and I bought it from NCIX so it shouldn't be a problem returning it and getting a new one.

You sure it's 100% uniform and not a variable model? I thought only Elitekeyboards had the uniform 45 TKL.

I dont have the uniform version but all the keys within that specific row feel extremely light and mushy over all. I dont know if thats normal

If you don't have the uniform 45g "EK Edition" then you have the variable version, where the peripherally located keys have 30g switches. You can find a map of the switch weights on the EK and Topre sites.

1, Q, A, Z are ergonomically weighed lower on variable models so the pinky finger can more easily actuate them.

I always felt that the 45g RF was just too mushy overall
