KBT Pure Pro, best layout for Mac and OSX support?
« on: Wed, 14 January 2015, 15:31:13 »
I recently jumped into the mechanical world with great pleasure (used briefly a mech macally in the early 90's).
Bought a KBT Pure Pro and here it is:
87277-0

Noticed the anomalies?
Let me explain.

The most obvious and less interesting are the bigger Q, W, A, Z, and M letters; couldn't find a Pure Pro ANSI, except from TaoBao and it long delivery times, couldn't locate a UK ISO so I settled for a French ISO, got a UK Qwerty Ducky Shine set, done.

I used Karabiner to change Control_R to Enter (default Pure Pro Enter is giving Return), Option_R to Command_R and finally the "improve ISO layout" option 2 which change section sign to ` and ` to \.
I then turned the Option to Command and Command to Option in the System Prefs.

Now into the interesting,
row 1 is FN - CTRL - ALT - CMD - SPACE which is just the same as on a MacBook keyboard (original Pure Pro layout is CTRL-FN-WIN-ALT)
I had to physically relocate switches AND leds (FN is white) to achieve this. I.e. switching Control and Function.
