Mechanical Keyboard in Cold Weather

Hello! I ordered my very first mechanical keyboard last weekend and I am planning to bring it to college for programming classes.
Thing is, to get to college, I need to walk about 20 minutes and I live in Canada so cold weather is very common.

Would it be safe to bring the keyboard in a laptop bag every day during 20 minutes walks with temps that can reach -30 degrees celcius?

The laptop bag does at least protect my laptop pretty well against cold weather. In fact, I tried to walk a few times at very cold temperatures with it and it wasn't very cold once I touched the surface of it once I was home. So would it be still a concern for a mechanical keyboard?

EDIT: Also, humidity isn't generally high where I live, so that is not a concern. Please mention it if you do know if it's also something to consider for those who could have the same question!

I leave mine outside in my car for long periods. Not like overnight or anything, but my car is old and get's cold quick.

I think you will be fine. If you really are going to worry, I would invest in a Grifiti keyboard case. They are neoprene and seem like good insulators.

If it is something with Cherry MX switches, then it should be fine.

I would imagine that the condensation when you bring it back into the warm classroom would be the problem.

Relative humidity outside is less relevant than indoors where dozens/hundreds of people are sweating and breathing hard.

It is a KUL ES-87 with Cherry MX Browns. I just remembered that Cherry does temperature testing in their factories, right? Don't know if they do cold or not but they do heat test their switches if I'm not mistaken.

Yeah that would be something to consider too... will have to test it out maybe one time or two initially to evaluate if it does a real impact or not (since all college environments differ).

Yeah, I thought the longer time period but with warmer temperature comparison would help. But I think if you have a decent board, there won't be a lot of condensation.

Especially if you have it in a bag, and have it against you while you walk. It wont get that cold I don't think
