KBT Pure Pro over PS/2?
« on: Tue, 27 January 2015, 18:12:23 »
hi guys,

so, i own a kbt pure pro, but i can't get it working over ps/2 (USB works fine).

here on aliexpress it seems they ship the pure pro with a ps/2 adapter, and the interface description says usb and ps/2. so i figured that mine (from qtan) should be able to work over ps/2 with an adapter.

though, if i connect my pure pro with a ps/2 adapter, the keyboard will just flash once when starting my pc, but my bios will tell me that no keyboard was detected.
then windows 7 will start normally, but the keyboard will not work.
control panel -> keyboard shows that no driver is being used.
(plugging the board into USB will make it say that 'HID keyboard device' is being used.)

i've tried setting the value Start to 1 (in stead of 3) in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\i8042prt, but that did not change anything. (i found this suggestion via google.)

can anyone think of something else that i could try?

A product description on an online store can easily be wrong. It happens all the time. Do you have the keyboard's manual?

I have two Pure Pro in ISO layout. They don't work when connected to a PS/2 port through a passive adapter.

The user's manual explicitly says "USB interface" and does not mention PS/2.

I think it's safe to say that my Pure Pros are not PS/2 compatible.

I would venture to say that yours is not either.

and PS/2 is not mentioned.
