I'm new and I'm on a mission
« on: Sat, 14 February 2015, 03:53:45 »
Aloha,

I'm a huge fan of the coffee keycap set, and in a desperate attempt to have something that even resembles the base set I've been buying extras from the SP crap bags... it's quite sad.

I'm on a mission to buy someone's coffee keycap base set.  I'm willing to go $15-20 over list price, I just want the damn thing.

I'm new to geekhack, and haven't used a online forum in this format for some time, where do I start?

O, and here's the keyboard, I have a \|, F4, J, Left Shift, Pause/Break, 3, and 4 on the way...  It'll looked like spilled coffee...

Wow. I have never been a huge fan of colored keycaps, but those are gorgeous.

I'm imagining one of these Noppoo EC108-Pro boards on Massdrop right now (https://www.massdrop.com/buy/noppoo-ec-108-pro), all white, with these coffee keys. That would be an awesome board.

I'm also brand-new to these forums. But according to the TOS you don't get access to the classifieds forums until you hit 60 posts.

Also, the TOS says no cursing at all. I'm too new to know how strict they are about that but you may want to edit your post before a mod sees it.

Welcome to Geekhack!

KeyPop have sold out, unfortunately.  IIRC there was not quite as much interest in R2 as they expected.  Of course after the GB dozens of people surfaced wishing they have bought in.

From that I'm guessing that most people who bought a set really wanted it, so you might not find any coming up for sale for a while.

I'd suggest just joining in the GH community, get your post count and membership time up past the minumum for classifieds, and then start a WTB thread.  Of course there's nothing stopping you from posting in an existing classifieds thread if you happen to find someone selling a set.

Good luck!
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
