Ducky Mini KVM issues.
« on: Mon, 16 February 2015, 22:18:39 »
Hi guys, I have a Ducky Mini that I'd love to use with my hardware KVM. Previously I've used Synergy, but it costs $$$ and sadly, the Fn,CMD/Win, and CTRL key have the habit of sticking with Synergy, making everything extra quirky. Also, you can grab nightlies from their server.. I use a Mac/PC combo so if I were to use a software KVM, it would need to be cross-platform.  Right now, I have a GCS632U (bit old, but it works fine on every keyboard, except the Mini). Whenever I plug the Ducky into the KVM's keyboard USB, the backlight blinks for a bit, then stays on, but the computer doesn't detect it. I can plug the Ducky into the mouse port and it works fine. Right now, I have a keyboard with a hub connected to the KVM for my mouse and Ctrl functions, while my Ducky is working on the mouse port. Why?!?! Any suggestions?
I have recently emailed Ducky to see if they can provide any assistance. Maybe a firmware update could fix this.

Synergy doesn't cost money if you know where to find the super secret download page. http://synergy-project.org/download/free/

Sneaky! (I should've mentioned this in the first post) Sadly, the Fn,CMD/Win, and CTRL key have the habit of sticking with Synergy, making everything extra quirky. Also, you can grab nightlies from their server. To clarify new readers, I edited the main post. Also, I wonder if the KVM doesn't like the keyboard in the keyboard USB because it can move the mouse...
EDIT: FYI i might be having a problem similar to this one: https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=50522.msg1573433#msg1573433

Bump, because this is kinda dumb. Pay premium price for a premium keyboard only to learn it might not work with something I need.
