I got this keyboard for 2€ from a thrift shop, it was the filthiest thing I've ever seen in my life, but then I cleaned it. Hard. And the next morning, WOW, this keyboard beats all the buckling spring and cherry mx keyboards I've ever tried, it really make think why don't they make keyboards like this anymore, I ordered a HHKB Pro 1 about a week ago too, not even sure if I'll like it more than this keyboard, because this would be extremely hard to beat

How is the key weighting? I have a Dell QuietKey that came highly recommended for a rubber dome, but it's like 70g+, far too stiff for me.
Please consider carefully before you decide to comment, for Jesus.

These things are pretty cheap... Look like a good candidate for a project...

They feel about 55-65 grams to be but I might be wrong, the funny thing is that they are more tactile than cherry mx blue and brown

IBM 7953's are like gold in the rubber membrane world.  Dare I say they are almost as good as Thorpies but way cheaper and far easier to get off ebay at any time.

You found a good one for that amount of money, enjoy  :thumb: .

The first-generation Dell Quiet Keys get a lot of attention, but these early IBM domes such as 7953 and 8923 are just as good and surprisingly well-built.

I can't remember about the 7953, but to take an 8923 apart you must remove several keys and take out at least 4 screws from the front of the plate, in addition to the ones in the rear.

Do you feel the breeze? I don't want anybody going on me. We need every voter. I don't care about you. I just want your vote. I don't care."
