Noppoo Choc Mini- Wobbly keys?
« on: Mon, 28 September 2015, 23:01:03 »
I've been wanting a compact board with Gateron switches.  The problem is they are not widely used yet and I've been debating soldering the switches into my own board.  However, this one has me interested.  I've been reading that many people have reported that the keys are wobbly and it orginates from the switch itself.

I'm having a bit of a problem understanding this.  These are plate mounted switches and soldered in.  If one was to resolder them would this solve the problem?  I'm not aware of exactly how they are wobbling so I am not sure.  This is the only thing allowing me to not pull the trigger on this board.

Wobble itself should be from the stem/switchtop

Interesting, why does this happen especially so with this model of keyboard?  Yeah I suppose there can be a little variance between lots of switches, but generally they should be uniform.  I was under the impression that there was movement in the switch mount.  I haven't heard anybody else way that these wobble, other than Choc Mini owners.

If it is the top half of the switch that is mobile, then that means that this is a wobbly switch.  In which case I may not want to buy this.  I really have to get my hands on a switch tester or sample.
